This lab coat is made from 100% cotton and all-metal snaps, which is accepted in most standard laboratory environments including introductory chemistry and biology lab classes. Please check with your lab safety officer for compatibility.
Fire:
100% Cotton provides better protection against flames than polyester or poly-cotton mixtures because polyester will melt to your skin and prevent emergency lab coat removal. 100% cotton is not “FR”, “flame-retardant” or “fire-proof”, and will burn slowly if exposed to intense flames. If your lab requires “FR” lab coats, get on our email list for our future release with flame retardant materials.
Acids:
Most lab coat materials, including 100% cotton, absorb strong acids and may develop holes from exposure. Always wear a neoprene, rubber, or PVC apron and long acid-resistant gloves on top of your lab coat when handling strong acids.

It fits me nicely (5ft2'', 126lb). I like the pockets, especially, the left upper pocket which has five pen holders. Love it so much. This lab coat is made of 100% cotton so it can be hot if I wear it for more than 20 min. So the ventilation is a bit of an issue.

I still want to love this lab coat, but the measurements are just too off. I am 5’5”, 135lbs, and I wear an xs or a small (for a looser fit) in every lab coat I have worn since the year 2000. I read the instructions, measured carefully, and ordered a medium. It fits nicely everywhere except the chest, which prevents full range of motion with my arms. I tried it on with my smallest bra and thinnest shirt to no avail. There is a pleat in back, but not enough to let me fully reach and extend my arms. According to the size chart a medium should fit a 36 inch chest. It is barely 36 inches itself (picture is of pit-to-pit measurement, which is barely 18”), so it will not fit a person who measures 36 inches (and yes, 36 inches is fully clothed and taking a deep breath).
I do not wear a lab coat to sit in class or for the occasional photo. I wear them 8+ hours a day doing everything from seated BSL2 work to standing benchwork to running instruments taller and wider than myself. I need to reach supplies stored in low cabinets, perform maintenance from top or side instrument access panels, you know, actually work. This lab coat seemed like one that would finally deliver where so many others let down. The pocket placements and design are spot on, the sleeves have a little extra length but fit nicely due to the top quality cuffs, and the material is a bit heavy but gives better protection. However, without full range of motion in my arms none of this matters as the coat is unwearable.
As for sizing up, I have concerns. The waist fits perfect, but the hips and lower portion covering the thighs are already flared significantly away from the body. I’m afraid going up to a large will look ridiculous and be hard to walk/work in with 4 more inches in the hip. Did I get a faulty coat? I would like to know what size coat the model is wearing on the website. It would also be nice if they explained that the size chart is the actual measurements of the lab coat, not the sizes that it will fit.

We are overhauling the women's size chart for the 2nd manufacturing run to make it fit more 'true to size' and will update the size charts based on your feedback. The size charts are indeed the person's max measurement, not the garment measurement. The garment chest is spec'd at 38 inches so we will add a little more buffer to the size chart. The model is wearing an XS in the photo. We'll add that to the listing also. We really appreciate all the details to help us make this better!

Feels like a hug!
This is a great lab coat. We have a few women in the lab and just ordered them for all of us. The fit feels just right, the sleeve lengths are correct, the material feels like a dream! The first impression upon putting it on was that the snaps are on the wrong side. Not sure if this is just because they are snaps and not buttons or if they are on the side you would expect for men's clothing. It isn't really a problem, it just threw me off a little bit. Overall, I am very, very pleased with this lab coat!

Yes! We've already had customers send in photos dyeing them black and green. The one catch is that the stitching is synthetic (for strength), so it will be always stay white.
