FACTS:
This cube contains a 99.995% pure silicon wafer sample, the same base material used to manufacture computer chips. The fine grid lines visible on the sample are the doping pattern, only a few atoms thick, making this one of the purest and most high-tech samples in the collection. Silicon is the second most abundant element in Earth's crust, about 27% by weight behind only oxygen, and occurs naturally in twelve distinct crystal forms of silica, including jasper, onyx, flint, opal, and quartz. Silica-based glass has even been found in Egyptian artifacts dating to 1500 BC.

Wash with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water. Use a clean, soft cloth, or sponge. Rinse and blot dry with a damp cloth or chamois.
Never use abrasive cleaners, household cleaners, window-cleaning fluids, scouring compounds, gritty cloths, or strong solvents such as alcohol, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, etc.
To maintain the brilliant luster of acrylic, wax occasionally with a quality grade of automobile paste wax (not a cleaner wax combination). Apply a thin coat with a clean, cotton flannel cloth. Then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Never use household spray waxes.
