Shark Tooth Fossils - 40+ Million Years Old

Not your standard gift shop shark teeth from the beach: These miniature teeth are the only remains of sharks that lived millions of years ago. Incredibly, sharks have survived four of the five major extinction events in the history of the Earth. The teeth come from a wide variety of species and range in size. Some displays come with 4 smaller teeth, and some come with 2 larger teeth but everyone will be different since no 2 Shark teeth are the same.

About This Fossil

FACTS:

Sharks have existed for roughly 450 million years, making them older than the dinosaurs, and have survived four of the five major extinction events in Earth's history. Because shark cartilage doesn't fossilize, teeth like these are essentially the only physical remains left behind by ancient sharks, and the shapes and sizes vary naturally from unit to unit since they come from a range of ancient shark species.

What's Included & Materials

Fossilized shark teeth set in a clear acrylic mount. Some displays include 4 smaller teeth, others 2 larger teeth; no two displays are exactly alike.

Care Guide

Wash with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water. Use a clean, soft cloth, or sponge. Rinse and blot dry with a damp cloth or chamois.

Never use abrasive cleaners, household cleaners, window-cleaning fluids, scouring compounds, gritty cloths, or strong solvents such as alcohol, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, etc.

To maintain the brilliant luster of acrylic, wax occasionally with a quality grade of automobile paste wax (not a cleaner wax combination). Apply a thin coat with a clean, cotton flannel cloth. Then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Never use household spray waxes.
