Loved it but won’t be buying another
I do field work throughout the year, all seasons. I loved this pocket sized scale bar. It was handy, so multi-use, I really liked that it included the geological timescale too. My field team members immediately wanted ones as well & I decided to purchase them for the team at the end of the summer. Unfortunately I found this thing GETS HOT QUICKLY in the high country plains’ arid heat, despite keeping it in my backpack and only pulling it out to take photos. I continued to use it all summer even though I couldn’t hold it very long after putting in the sun for hardly a minute. One unlucky day in the field I left it out in the middle of nowhere, literally hours from the paved road - and that was the end of that. Sadly I decided not to purchase again because of the heat issue.
