Below are our favorite neuroscience podcasts in 2022, in no particular order. There's a huge variety here, but they are all well worth a listen. We tried to select a wide range of podcasts from diverse hosts with unique perspectives. We even fully hyperlinked every social media account and listening platform to make it easy to follow along!
Naked Neuroscience, from the Naked Scientists
Episode Length: 30-50 minutes
Naked Neuroscience is a spine-tingling, interactive monthly investigation of the neurological system's workings from the Naked Scientists. This podcast is one of our faves because of the diversity of topics covered, the thoroughness with which the topics are covered, and even the presenters' overall likeability. They make issues easy enough for a layperson to understand while maintaining their intricacy. "Eating for Your Nervous System" is one episode we think you'll appreciate. And in this episode, you'll find out if eating may actually prevent neurological diseases, as well as what fruits and veggies do to our brain.
This Week in Neuroscience is a fantastic nervous system podcast. Vincent Racaniello and his co-hosts address neuroscience, neurodevelopmental diseases, spatial memory, peripheral nervous system, neuroplasticity, immunological response, social transmission, psychology, and more with experts.
Each episode focuses on a fundamental concept, with hosts giving a wealth of material to help you better understand their profession. They do get into the nitty-gritty technical aspects of neuroscience, which we find fascinating. However, this could be difficult for people outside of neurobiology. It's evident that they care about what they do, which makes the podcast enjoyable to listen to!
Dr. Stephanie Caligiuri hosts The People's Scientist, a weekly podcast that covers the most recent scientific breakthroughs in Neuroscience, Physiology, and Nutrition. She differentiates what is true from what is untrue using cutting-edge modern science, diet trends, and other nutrition-related issues. In every topic, she uses authentic peer-reviewed scientific papers to provide us only with the facts.
She explains seemingly complex concepts in a way that is both educational and charming, making it easy to stay engaged throughout the episode. As a scientist from another field, this is the podcast I’ve always been looking for to get the through the misinformation surrounding current health trends and figure out what changes, if any, I should actually consider making in my habits.
The Straight from a Scientist Podcast strives to keep you up to date on what's going on at the cutting edge of biotechnology research. It's not totally about neuroscience, but there are plenty of brain-related topics to learn about! They invite researchers and conduct interviews with them who have first-hand expertise with the topics being covered in such a way that science is broken down into terms that ordinary people can understand.
It's also entertaining because of their back-and-forth banter which is a fantastic way to learn passively. The best aspect is that everything you learn from the podcast is up to date, factual, and verified. One of our personal favorites because their passion for truthful science communication shines through in every episode.
Brain Science with Ginger Campbell, MD: Neuroscience for Everyone

Dr. Ginger Campbell's Brain Science has been delving into how new advances in neuroscience are helping to solve the enigma of how our brain makes us human since 2006. It's the perfect podcast for non-scientists, scientists, and everyone in between, as she interviews scientists and discusses the latest brain books.
She stages her interviews in a carefully orchestrated crescendo, allowing scientists and authors to provide insightful responses. Each episode concludes with summaries that can assist the listener in remembering the content, which we appreciate. This podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in brain science.
The Mindset Neuroscience Podcast provides science-based ideas for improving resilience, self-control, learning, and innovation. Stefanie Faye, the show's host, deconstructs neuroscience into processes that we can use to better ourselves. Her eloquence, delivery, and structure are all carefully planned and executed.
She does an excellent job of explaining how the listener's mindset (perspectives, beliefs, thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions) affects their brain function, potential, and growth. Her teaching style makes difficult subjects simple to understand and utilize in our daily lives.
WaterCooler Neuroscience is a podcast that takes you inside brain science labs and teaches you professional scientific techniques. They not only interview neuroscientists who have already appeared on television, but also those who conduct cutting-edge research published in journals only scientists read.
The hosts walk you through their guest's work and explain what they did to learn about the field. Each season also has two episodes where they discuss the methods that scientists take for granted that you only really learn about in university. If you're a student or even a professional, this is an excellent podcast to listen to.
For neuroscience aficionados, the NEI Podcast is a must-listen. The Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) is dedicated to improving mental health by delivering innovative medical education. They have some incredible guests, and it's always interesting to hear professional perspectives on current issues. The episodes are well-produced, therapeutically useful, engaging, and up to date.
There are also numerous episode categories such as "Catch Me If You Can," "The PsychopharmaStahlogy Show," "CME," and others that are all informative and entertaining to listen to. Not only does the podcast have fantastic substance, but it also features knowledgeable hosts who have excellent interviewing abilities.
The Brain Inspired podcast continues to deliver high-quality content on the convergence of neuroscience, AI, and machine learning. Complex issues are handled with ease and the casual tone and personal touch lend a necessary sense of familiarity to any complex subject.
The conversations are intelligent but accessible to non-specialists, and they involve some of the field's most prominent scientists. We like Paul Middlebrook's no-nonsense, low-key presentation, and we highly suggest this podcast to everyone with an inquisitive and interested mind.
Brain Science: Neuroscience, Behavior delves into the inner workings of the human brain to gain a better understanding of behavior change, habit formation, mental health, and what it means to be human. It's not your normal brain podcast, where the focus is solely on "how the brain works," but also on how we can use what we've learned about the brain to improve our lives.
