April Resource - Level up your Google Drive:
Do you lose files in Google Drive all the time like I do? Or can't remember which document has that excerpt? Or want to summarize a few Docs together? I'm still not a fan of AI tools for writing, but for systems and productivity? Yes, please!
Google's new (free) AI tool Gemini has had lots of problems in the news, but it does one thing well that blew me away - it can contextually search ALL of your Google Drive files AND your Gmail to pull up links to any and all relevant documents instantly. It does a better job than the standard search functions, especially when you can only use common words. Plus, it does all the other cool AI-stuff and links to Google Flights, Maps, and YouTube.
Here's my favorite 10-minute video showing all the time-saving ways you can use it. The ones that blew my mind:
- Summarize the 3 most important unread emails from the past 3 days
- Extract the data from the table in this PDF into an editable format (HUGE time saver with academic papers)
- Interpret this graphical plot and summarize the main takeaways (be careful with this, I wouldn't trust it yet!)
