July Discount: Periodic Table of Tools Poster

If you love tools or working with your hands, these are for you. Popular Science writer Theo Gray spent several years collecting vintage, unique and modern tools, then photographing them to create his brilliant Tools book series. He turned that book into the poster below and Genius Lab Gear has acquired the exclusive rights to print and sell it in the USA.

For our launch of these in July, card holders can get 20% off when they buy two posters using code “TOOLS20” at checkout. Limit 1 use per customer and 10 total uses.

July Resource: A tool to remember how small we are

When it feels like our world is imploding, it’s worth taking a minute to remember how small we are. The point is not to diminish our problems, but instead to take a deep breath so you can determine the best next move without being blinded by emotion.

The JWST has finished the largest every sky survey at incredibly high resolution. In a slice of sky equal to about 3 full moons, they identified over 780,000 galaxies! Even better, they built an interactive web tool that lets you zoom, zoom, and zoom some more to effectively time travel billions of years.

Play with the filters to nerd out a bit on how they composed the whole thing. And if you know any kids interested in STEM, sit down with them and show them this to blow their mind.
