OK, it’s time to basically give these away, given the hard times our community is facing for STEM research funding. This is the best deal we can give where we don’t lose money every order. Grab a sticker for your upcoming rally or show your support for science (and diversity in our STEM workforce) on your laptop, Stanley, or notebook.
Visit our stickers collection here, add 4 to your cart and 2 of them will be free! We also don’t upcharge shipping at all, so this is purely just getting these out into the world when we need them the most! If the code doesn’t auto-apply, use “STANDUPFORSCIENCE” at checkout.

Most of the graphics you’ve seen from Genius Lab Gear were created in Affinity or Canva. Affinity is great for the more detailed printed inserts and photoshoot edits while Canva is great for infographics and social posts. Affinity has always been a low-cost competitor to the Adobe suite and gets better every day.
But…I just found out that Canva acquired Affinity and has now made the entire design suite FREE.
The catch?
You have to create a free Canva login and they will try to get you to become a Canva subscriber (but you don’t have to).
So what would you use this for in STEM fields?
It’s meant to kill Adobe’s overpriced model, and I’m here for it. Here’s the link to get it.

My favorite nerdy holiday - Pi Day is on 3/14. If you need a fun fact to share, ask a friend how much space it would take to write down the first BILLION digits of Pi. Then show them this fun project where Josh used photolithography to etch a billion digits onto a small plate of sapphire. This demonstrates just how fine of control semiconductor engineers have on making nano-scale electronics.

👉 See our science and engineering holidays list to find more reasons (and seasons) to celebrate.
With our growing family, I’m starting to devise totally useless logical arguments on how to deal with the irrational fears of toddlers.

Science cartoons by Tom Gauld.
Our first prototype was actually quite wearable, but we’re making some small changes to the hardware and cuffs material. The design will be nearly identical to the Curie and Louis. I’ve gone ahead and selected 6 beta testers from the 30+ applications we received for the early samples (but not contacted them yet).
If things go smoothly, we will finish our UL compliance testing in May and finish production by July. Fair warning, these will be expensive. Made in the USA is not cheap! Expect about $180-$200 each. But I promise they will be the best FR/CAT2 rated lab coat available. We’ll run a pre-order with a one-time discount ahead of the production, so stay tuned to this email list to jump in on that.
